Rosemary F. Kelly, MD, C. Walton & Richard C. Lillehei Professor and Executive Vice-Chair for Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery, was awarded a Translational Research grant by Regenerative Medicine Minnesota (RMM) for her project focusing on the development of novel stem cell-based technologies. 

 

The project "Mesenchymal stem cell-derived exosome therapy targeting mitochondrial function for recovery of hibernating myocardium" will be funded through 2025 with an award total of $387,000. 

 

The objective of the Regenerative Medicine Minnesota (RMM) Translational Research Award program is to support the development of promising new stem cell-based or genetic therapy technologies that could be translated to enable broad use and, ultimately, improve patient care.”
