Medical School: Wayne State University School of Medicine

Residency: Naval Medical Center Portsmouth

I grew up in Arden Hills, MN; Morgantown, WV; and Northville, MI. I attended Caltech for undergraduate where I played tennis and attended medical school at Wayne State University in Detroit, MI. I completed my internship at Naval Medical Center Portsmouth before serving as a flight surgeon for VMFA-121 at Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni, Japan. I then returned to NMCP to complete my residency in general surgery. I was immediately drawn to the University of Minnesota for its breadth and diversity of cases. I was particularly impressed by the support and kindness expressed by the faculty and program coordinator during my interview, making Minnesota an easy top choice.

Residency: Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai South Nassau

I grew up in Louisville Kentucky and obtained my Bachelor of Arts in biology from the University of Louisville. From there I traveled to Oregon where I attended medical school at Western University of Health Sciences and completed my medical degree in osteopathic medicine. I fell in love with general surgery during my core rotations and matched at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai South Nassau, beginning during the COVID pandemic in July of 2020. During residency I found my passion in vascular surgery, and happily matched into the University of Minnesota’s vascular surgery fellowship. I am extremely excited to begin my journey in Minnesota’s vascular fellowship as I pointedly remember the obvious camaraderie amongst trainees and staff, variety of vascular cases and pathologies throughout training, and the confidence of former trainees I have been able to converse with.
