In 2016, MOCA (Minnesota Ovarian Cancer Alliance) awarded more than $1 million to ovarian cancer research in Minnesota. Researchers in the Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology & Women's Health were among the recipients.

On September 12, 2015, members of the UMN Gynecologic Oncology team supported MOCA at the annual Teal Strides for Ovarian Cancer. Debuting a new shirt, researchers, faculty, nurses, and friends were there to pass out information about the help and support the University of Minnesota is able to offer those dealing with Ovarian Cancer.
