The Department of Surgery is pleased to welcome Feng Xie, PhD, as Assistant Professor in the Division of Computational Health Sciences.

The Department of Surgery welcomes Feng Xie, PhD, as an Assistant Professor.


Dr. Xie brings a multidisciplinary background in medical informatics, data science, biology, health services research, and biostatistics. With a multidisciplinary background encompassing medical informatics, data science, biology, health services research, and biostatistics, his research focuses on developing trustworthy machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI) healthcare solutions. He applies these advanced techniques to various medical fields, including critical illness, pediatric health, and emergency medicine.


Dr. Xie completed his postdoctoral fellowship at Stanford University in 2024 and earned his PhD from Duke-NUS Medical School in 2022. He holds a BS from Tsinghua University, which he received in 2017.

Among his notable achievements, Dr. Xie has been awarded the Stanford Maternal and Child Health Research Institute (MCHRI) Postdoctoral Fellowship, the National University of Singapore Research Scholarship, and the Tsinghua Xuetang Life Sciences Talents Program Fellowship. He also serves as an Associate Editor for the Journal of Medical Internet Research.
