On Thursday, March 14, Adjunct Associate Professor in the Department of Surgery, Dr. Anthony Rezcallah, was awarded the Leonard Tow Humanism Award on behalf of the Gold Humanism Honor Society. This award is granted to one faculty physician who consistently demonstrates compassion, empathy, and respect for patients, their families, students, and their colleagues.

Dr. Rezcallah received several outstanding nominations by third-year medical students for the award, and he was selected as the recipient out of over 250 nominations - an incredible accomplishment. 

As a recipient of this award, he will also be inducted into the Gold Humanism Society. This honorary induction into the Gold Humanism Honor Society reflects Dr. Rezcallah's impressive commitment to his patients, colleagues, and society.

"The University of Minnesota medical students nominated and selected me for this award, and I was humbled by it," said Dr. Rezcallah.
