For Pediatric Cardiothoracic Surgery leader, Pranava Sinha, MD MBA, supporting sustainable pediatric cardiac care programs for the international community is essential to the pledge of healthcare equity for all. 

For six consecutive years, Dr. Sinha has received funding to support his outreach in Uganda to establish a sustainable pediatric cardiac care program through education, technology donation, patient care, and conversations with hospital and government officials.

Through the Thoracic Surgery Foundation (TSF), Dr. Sinha recently received a 2023 TSF Every Heartbeat Matters Award for his project entitled "Valvular and Congenital Heart Surgery in Uganda,” of $35,000. The grant is made possible by TSF in collaboration with the Edwards Lifesciences Foundation.

Dr. Sinha is an expert in repairing congenital heart defects, pediatric mechanical circulatory support, and pediatric heart transplants.

As Division Chief of Pediatric Cardiothoracic Surgery, Dr. Sinha serves a critical role in building and co-leading an interdisciplinary team to provide exemplary patient care and family experience. He is also the co-director of the Heart Center at the M Health Fairview Masonic Children's Hospital.
