American Cancer Society

The American Cancer Society offers a variety of funding opportunities with a variety of focus areas.

One common ACS research grant for early stage investigators is the Research Scholar Grant, which are available to investigators in their first 10 years of an independent career and provide up to four years of support with $165,000/year in direct costs. Applications for this mechanism are due April 1st and October 15th each year.

Mentored grants are also provided under the Clinician Scientist Development Grant and the Postdoctoral Fellowship.

American Heart Association

The American Heart Association (AHA) offers grant support to Postdoctoral Researchers and Career Development Awards to support cardiovascular and cerebrovascular research. For general information on AHA research programs click here.
