Call for Nominations: University Senate and Medical School Councils/Committees

The Medical School is seeking faculty members to serve on the University Senate and the Faculty Advisory Committee on Health Sciences, as well as on school-wide committees and councils: 

  • University Senate* - 8 elected positions 
    • *NOTE: Faculty elected by their peers to serve on the University Senate are included on the Medical School's Faculty Advisory Council. 
  • Faculty Advisory Committee on Health Sciences (FACHS) - 2 elected positions (1 clinical science faculty representative, 1 basic science faculty representative) 
  • Medical Student Admissions Committee (MSAC) - 1 elected position 
  • Medical Student Education Committee (MSEC) - 5 elected positions (2 Duluth faculty representatives, 2 St. Cloud faculty representatives, and 1 Medical Scientist Training Program representative) 
  • Medical Student Scholastic Standing Committee (MSSSC) - 4 elected positions (including 1 Duluth faculty representative, 1 St. Cloud faculty representative) 
  • Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Council (DEIC) - 5 elected positions 
  • Research Council (RC) - 1 elected position 

Faculty members may nominate themselves or be nominated for governance positions by submitting a short biography and a statement about their interest and/or experience relevant to committee service. OFA will verify eligibility and prepare a list of nominated faculty members to be presented to the May 20 Faculty Assembly for an electronic vote. 

Elected members will serve three-year terms (July 1, 2026 - June 30, 2029). Information about the Medical School's committees and councils can be found on the Governance page.

2026-27 Promotion Cycle Office Hours

From April 14 to September 10, we have set aside weekly time on Tuesdays and Thursdays to assist anyone who has questions in relation to CV and dossier preparation for the 2026-27 promotion cycle. Please limit your questions to a few minutes during the scheduled time.

Tuesdays, 10:00-11:00 am (via Zoom)
Thursdays, 11:00-12:00 pm (via Zoom)
