Global Surgery & Disparities Program

Training Doctors. Empowering Communities. Ending Disparities.

The University of Minnesota Global Surgery & Disparities Program works to understand and improve surgical and anesthesia care in underserved populations through partnerships with local communities - both domestically and internationally. We aren't just sending aid - we are building a global network of peers to close the surgical gap. Together we can ensure safe and equitable access to surgical and anesthesia care.

Global Breast Cancer Fellowship

We are recruiting physicians from LMICs who are interested in improving breast cancer outcomes in their home countries. This is the only breast fellowship in the United States that is dedicated to training physicians in LMICs.

The primary objective of the University of Minnesota Global Breast Cancer Fellowship is to train breast cancer experts in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). Breast cancer is the most common cancer worldwide and the leading cause of cancer deaths among women. This disparity is not inevitable - it is reversible through education, training, and access to emerging therapies.
