Post Cardiac Surgery Recovery & Resuscitation Training

The Post Cardiac Surgery Recovery and Resuscitation Training Course is aimed at the trainees and personnel that care for the patient after cardiac surgery. Attendees can expect to leave this training course with a basic knowledge of the pathways we routinely follow in the care of our post-operative patients, and the skills necessary to perform emergency resternotomy after cardiac surgery. The course is a 90 minute session that starts with a short didactic component. During this didactic portion, we will provide introduction to the pathways we follow in the care of our cardiac surgery patients. Following the didactic portion, we will proceed to a lab based cadaver session introducing the techniques necessary to perform emergency resternotomy and resuscitation of patients with cardiac arrest after open heart surgery.
