Professor Emeritus David E. R. Sutherland, MD, PhD, (1940-2025), served as the Chief of the Division of Transplantation from 1995-2009 and directed the Schulze Diabetes Institute from 1994-2013. He is remembered as the father of pancreas transplant and a pioneer in islet transplant, as it is practiced today. Join us May 14-15, 2026, as we honor Dr. Sutherland's legacy of innovation in diabetes research and his dedication to patients and trainees.
