CWIMS Action Groups
Action Groups fulfill an important role in progressing CWIMS initiatives specific to four areas of focus. Action Groups are made up of one leader and 6-12 action group members. Action Group members participate in monthly Action Group meetings, CWIMS events, research, and quality improvement projects. Action Group members are self-nominated and serve for 2 years.
Mentoring Action Group

- Launching “Mentoring at Your Fingertips” resources on CWIMS website
- Distinguished Women in Medicine and Science Visiting Scholar Award
- Expanding internal and external mentoring networks
- Annual Spring Workshop and Fall Retreat

Retention and Recruitment
Current Projects and Initiatives
1. Evaluate responses to COVID surveys to determine which practices are advantageous for satisfactions and advancement and should be maintained.
2. Assess and address reasons for loss of mid-career faculty
3. Increase recruitment and retention of diverse faculty, and mentorship to increase diversity for future leadership positions.

Salary, Resource, Leadership Equity
Current Projects and Initiatives
- Gender Equity Data Dashboard
- Annual reports on metrics related to salary, resource, and leadership equity
- Focus group on barriers to promotion
- Stewarding nominations and scholarships for women to attend institutional and regional leadership trainings
Promotion
Current Projects and Initiatives
1. Nominate women faculty for institutional and national awards.
2. Keep up to date on data related to current promotion rates and timelines for women faculty.
3. Survey women about barriers for promotion and ideas to overcome these barriers.
