University of Minnesota Faculty Work to Prevent the COVID-19 Spread for Those Who are Incarcerated

The COVID-19 pandemic has continually had a large impact on the people that are incarcerated due to the lack of available resources. Additionally, due to the tight living quarters, the disease is spreading very quickly not only among inmates, but also facility staff. To raise awareness of this issue and provide resources, Rebecca Shlafer, PhD, MPH, Assistant Professor in the Division of General Pediatrics and Adolescent Health at the University of Minnesota, and her colleagues have been actively working to get the COVID-19 vaccine and additional masks available in prisons and jails in order to help with the spread.
