Recently, the 2022 Blue Ridge Research Rankings were released, showing the University of Minnesota Medical as being ranked 21st of all medical schools for National Institutes of Health (NIH) funding. Additionally, the University was ranked 8th among public medical schools across the nation. The Department of Pediatrics, with the support of our faculty and staff, is now ranked 12th for NIH funding. In total over the last year, our medical school faculty earned over $341M in funding from the NIH, which is over a 50% increase in funding compared to 2021.
