I am deeply honored to serve as Chief of the Cardiovascular Division and the inaugural Dr. Jay N. Cohn Endowed Chair in Cardiology.
Cardiovascular medicine is one of the most storied programs at the University of Minnesota, with a rich legacy of clinical innovation, medical education, and scientific discovery. I am dedicated to support the efforts of our talented and accomplished faculty in advancing the clinical and academic programs in cardiovascular medicine and look forward to furthering our mission to serve as the world's premier campus for education and research dedicated to cardiovascular health.
The division offers a three-year ACGME approved fellowship program that offers outstanding educational opportunities in general and subspecialty cardiology designed to develop careers in clinical practice, academic medicine, and industry.
Research conducted at the Lillehei Heart Institute brings together faculty and students committed to cardiovascular scholarship, facilitating their interaction and allowing them to share core University resources.
Our heart specialists and their teams build upon a 60-year legacy of clinical care, research and innovation, including the world’s first open-heart surgery.
