Sabine Karam Receives ASON Excellence in Committee Leadership Award

Dr. Sabine Karam has received the ASON Excellence in Committee Leadership Award in recognition of her service as Co-Chair of the Education Committee. This award highlights her leadership and contributions to advancing education within the nephrology community.

Sahar Koubar Featured in Helio Nephrology

Dr. Sahar Koubar was featured in Helio Nephrology in an article examining fertility and pregnancy risks among women with Alport syndrome. Daniel Murphy Receives K Award for AKI and Diabetes Research

Dr. Daniel Murphy has received a K Award for his project, “SGLT2 inhibitors after acute kidney injury to improve outcomes in type 2 diabetes.” This research focuses on improving long-term kidney and cardiovascular outcomes among patients who experience acute kidney injury (AKI). Findings from this work will inform the design of a future large-scale clinical trial aimed at improving outcomes for AKI survivors.

Dr. Sahar Koubar awarded the NKF Young Investigator Grant award

Dr. Sahar Koubar received an NKF Young Investigator Grant for her research project, “Maternal and Neonatal Outcomes in Pregnant Women with Alport Syndrome.” The project has been awarded funding through the 2025–26 National Kidney Foundation Research Grant Program.

Dr. Sabine Karam elected to the Board of Directors for ASON

Dr. Sabine Karam has been elected to the Board of Directors for the American Society of Onco-nephrology (ASON). Dr. Karam's extensive experience and dedication to advancing kidney health in cancer patients make her a valuable addition to the board. Her leadership and expertise will contribute to the society's mission to promote research, clinical activities, and education in this critical field.
