In collaboration with faculty, staff, and other stakeholders, DHM leadership implemented a variety of new programs and initiatives in the division’s first year. As one example, Dr. Haruka Torok, Associate Director of Mentoring and Career Development, developed an Early Career Faculty Development Program, which, through a series of monthly workshop, provides the DHM faculty members in the first 2 years of hire with knowledge and tools to effectively start their careers in academic hospital medicine ranging from quality improvement, clinical care, teaching and scholarship. These sessions are also intended to serve as a platform for our early career faculty members to share issues, develop a sense of community and facilitate collaborations.

Members of the DHM Executive Leadership Team lead and support a variety of initiatives surrounding clinical hospital medicine, med-peds, administration and operations, research and scholarship, mentoring and career development, and diversity, equity, and inclusion.
