Who has been your biggest influence on your career path, and why? I have been blessed by many mentors who have influenced my career path from attendings, senior residents, coresidents, fellows, ancillary staff, and APPs offering guidance and inspiration at different stages of my training. My interest in IP started as a resident and grew as a fellow under one of my most formative mentors, Dr. Ara Chrissian, who helped me grow into a more self aware and resilient fellow. Having a mentor who believed in me and encouraged me to take on new challenges boosted my confidence. This was balanced by structured feedback that helped me recognize areas for improvement. I was drawn into the field because my mentor and the team he built made IP fun and exciting even when the work was tough. It’s the kind of passion that inspires others to follow suit, and I hope to pay that forward by mentoring others in the same way he mentored me.

What recent accomplishment has you feeling most energized? One of my recent personal accomplishments has been reconnecting with music and playing the piano again after a long hiatus. It challenges my mind in a completely different way and brings a sense of joy that feels both nostalgic and new. Relearning old pieces and discovering new ones reminds me that growth takes patience and practice (just like in fellowship). Even small progress, made consistently, is fulfilling.
