About Us

Mission

We are committed to improving the health of individuals and communities globally through education and partnership.

Vision

Global health education, research, and clinical care will be collaborative and improve the health of individuals and communities in Minnesota and the world.

Values

  • Health is a human right. Global health disparities are created by historical context far more than geographic boundaries, leaving those most undervalued and exploited by those in power to shoulder the heaviest burden of diseases that are both preventable and treatable.
  • We affirm the universal dignity of every person.
  • We embrace and are enriched by diverse cultural perspectives and varied backgrounds, taking joy in the rich human tapestry and honoring the traditions that shape our shared values and contributions.
  • We believe in bilaterally beneficial relationships and reciprocal innovation. We have much to learn from colleagues around the world, regardless of the resources available in their setting, and what we learn globally strengthens care for patients in our local contexts.
  • We aim to educate the next generation of leaders in global health research, policy, education and clinical excellence.
