Alex Tsai, MD/PhD, is a tenure-track assistant professor in the Hematology, Oncology and Transplantation Division. He obtained his master's and bachelor's degrees here at the U of Minnesota and then did his MD and PhD at University of Maryland, Baltimore. He then returned to the U of M for fellowship and participated in the PSTP program under Dr. Ingunn Stromnes. His research is extensive and varied, most recently focusing on adoptive cell therapies, tumor immunology, and the tumor microenvironment. He has a special interest in immunologically cold-tumors, such as pancreatic and prostate cancer, where he concentrates his clinical efforts.
