Dr. Austin Culver earned a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering from the Northwestern University McCormick School of Engineering as part of the Honors Program in Medical Education and completed his medical degree at the Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. He went on to complete his Internal Medicine residency at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, followed by a research fellowship in advanced cardiac imaging. He then completed his Cardiovascular Disease fellowship at Medstar Washington Hospital Center - Georgetown University additionally serving as Chief Cardiovascular Disease Fellow and subsequently pursued further fellowship training in Critical Care Medicine at Medstar Washington Hospital Center. Dr. Culver joins the University of Minnesota as a cardiac critical care specialist, with special interests in advanced mechanical circulatory support, ECMO, ECPR, echocardiography, cardiac critical care education, and process and quality improvement initiatives in post-cardiac arrest and Cardiovascular ICU care.
