Summary
Dr. Brian Hilliard is an Internal Medicine and Pediatric hospitalist at the University of Minnesota.  He is currently the associate director for clinical hospital medicine within the Division of Hospital Medicine.  In this capacity he helps to lead operational management and strategic initiatives, and partners with individuals internal and external to the division.  He has a particular interest in the expansion and dissemination of QI projects within the wider health system. He chairs a number of committees focused on quality improvement and professional enhancement.  He is a member of the leadership team for MEC at UMMC.   He is a member of the departmental finance committee, multiple health system projects (currently interdisciplinary bedside rounding project), and serves on the unified credentialing committee for FPAN.  Additionally, he is the site director for the IM clerkship at the University of Minnesota Medical Center.  His research focus includes diagnostic safety and health equity.  As part of this, he serves as the co-site lead for the ADEPT study, an AHRQ multi-site study out of UCSF and BWH.
