Summary
Dr. Simmons serves as the Interim Director of the Adult Congenital Heart Disease Program. After completing a combined residency in Internal medicine and Pediatrics, she went on for fellowship training in Pediatric Cardiology and advanced fellowship training in Adult Congenital Heart Disease at Yale University. She was appointed to be the Medical Director of Pediatric and Adult Congenital Cardiology at Presbyterian Medical Group in Albuquerque, New Mexico. There she worked with local, state and hospital leaders to improve access to critical cardiac care in rural parts of the state where no congenital cardiac care was available.
Her clinical interests are transitioning patients with congenital heart conditions from pediatric to adult care and optimizing the multidisciplinary care of adults with congenital heart conditions.
