Patient Care
Hiqh-quality, innovative, empathetic, evidence-based and equitable care for patients is the backbone of our work as hospitalists and serves as the foundation for all our other work. Our primary clinical site is the University of Minnesota Medical Center, the flagship hospital for the M Health Fairview system.
The University of Minnesota Medical Center is a large, urban, tertiary care academic medical center that serves the local population of the Minneapolis/St. Paul metropolitan area as well as a referral center for patients across the Upper Midwest. We work in close collaboration with many medical and surgical subspecialties to provide care to patients with a wide variety of conditions, including solid organ transplantation, blood and marrow transplantation, solid and hematologic malignancies, advanced gastrointestinal conditions, cardiac conditions, as well as many others.
Our teams provide around-the-clock care on both the East and West Bank campuses of the University of Minnesota Medical Center. All of our faculty rotate on both the direct care and teaching services. We have a number of unique service opportunities within hospital medicine, including:
-
Hospital Medicine Addiction Consult Service
-
Bedside Procedure Service
-
System Triage Physician Roles
-
Combined inpatient and outpatient roles
A substantial number of our faculty are Medicine-Pediatrics Hospitalists who practice both adult and pediatric hospital medicine; pediatric services are provided at the University of Minnesota Masonic Children’s Hospital, Fairview Ridges Hospital, and newborn care at Maple Grove Hospital.
