The University of Minnesota supports three gastroenterology fellowship training programs: an ACGME-accredited, three-year Gastroenterology Fellowship Program, an ACGME-accredited one-year Transplant Hepatology Program, and one-year Advanced ERCP/EUS Fellowship Program.
GI fellows receive clinical training across five sites in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Rotations range from inpatient hospital consults to selectives in GI subspecialty clinics and specialized endoscopy experiences. Six months of dedicated research time generally occurs during the second year of training.
The Transplant Hepatology Fellowship Program is a one-year, ACGME-accredited training program which provides advanced education in all aspects of hepatology. The curriculum has been carefully designed to provide a balance of transplant and non-transplant clinical hepatology and research experience in preparation for a career in academic hepatology.
