Dr. Angie S. Lobo is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Nephrology and Hypertension at the University of Minnesota. She is a physician-scientist with dual fellowship training in nephrology and women’s health, including dedicated clinical and research training at the Mayo Clinic and University of Minnesota. Her work focuses on the intersection of hormonal transitions—such as menopause—and kidney disease in women, with the goal of advancing sex-specific interventions in chronic kidney disease (CKD). Dr. Lobo Romero leads the Women’s Kidney Program Registry, a multicenter initiative investigating hormonal, clinical, and psychosocial factors in women with CKD. Her clinical interests include the care of women with kidney disease and the management of glomerular diseases across the different stages of life. She is fluent in Spanish and committed to improving kidney health equity for Spanish-speaking populations.
