Dr. Joseph Norton is a specialist in hematologic malignancies with a focus on transplant for myeloid malignancies (leukemias, MDS, MPN) acknowledging that the biggest problem after allogeneic transplant continues to be relapse and developing maintenance therapy strategies with his mentors is a goal. Dr. Norton is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Hematology, Oncology and Transplantation. The TCT (Transplant and Cellular Therapy) program, one of the pillar programs of the Masonic Comprehensive Cancer Center, will serve as his academic home within the cancer center for leukemia, transplant and cellular therapy related research. His research will focus on transplant and cellular therapies for hematologic malignancies (leukemias, MDS, MPN) and maintenance therapies after transplantation. With that will come the opportunity to promote his work, both clinical and translational, within BMT. He will obtain preliminary data on transplant and cellular therapy focused on AML and MDS, using this to obtain clinical data and statistical support for analyses, and for blood sample collection and immune monitoring, to promote translational research opportunities.
