Dr. Nasim Parsa is a gastroenterologist specializing in esophageal disorders, with particular expertise in Barrett's esophagus and esophageal cancer, complex esophageal strictures, esophageal motility disorders and other benign esophageal conditions. Her clinical and academic interests focus on esophageal disorders, endoscopic innovations and medical Artificial Intelligence (AI). She is a graduate of University of Missouri and Mayo School of Graduate Medical Education.
Through her work as a researcher, she has authored over 50 manuscripts and presented over 50 abstracts at national & international conferences. She has a continuous presence on the podiums and is frequently invited to speak, chair, and organize symposiums in the field of medical AI and esophageal disorders. She has been an invited reviewer & guest editor for several prestigious journals including Gastroenterology and Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and is the co-editor of the Textbook “AI in Clinical Medicine: A Practical Guide for Healthcare Professionals”, a reference book for the emerging and exciting use of AI throughout clinical medicine. Currently, she is supervising a Ph.D. student at the UKRI Center for Doctoral Training for his thesis project entitled Exploring AI-driven Methods in the Management of Inflammatory Bowel Disease using intestinal ultrasound.
Dr. Parsa is committed to serving her profession & is currently serving on several committees including the Educational Affair Committee for ACG, DDW Annual Scientific Planning Committee for the ASGE, & the Education Committee for the International Society for the Disease of the Esophagus. She is passionate about improving outcomes for patients with esophageal disorders and improving physicians’ performance through cutting-edge technology and the safe adoption of AI in clinical practice. In addition to her clinical practice, she is the VP of Medical Affairs at Satisfai Health, where she leads the continued development and execution of clinical and research strategies for AI technologies in Gastroenterology and Endoscopy.
