Dr. Hamad completed his Internal Medicine residency at Medstar Harbor Hospital in Baltimore before joining UPMC where he completed his Infectious Diseases fellowship training. After his training he joined the faculty at Washington University in the division of infectious diseases. He then completed his Critical Care Medicine training at the National Institutes of Health in Maryland. His research interests include infectious complications in critically ill immunocompromised hosts. Dr. Hamad works in the medical intensive care unit at both the University of Minnesota Medical Center and Fairview Southdale Hospital where he is involved in medical education for both the internal medicine and pulmonary critical care fellowship programs.
