Summary
I graduated from the Medical Scientist Training Program at the University of Minnesota in 2017. I completed my PhD in the Microbiology, Immunology, and Cancer Biology program with Alex Khoruts and Mike Sadowsky, where my work focused on understanding the mechanisms behind fecal microbiota transplantation for recurrent C. difficile infection. After medical school, I went on to residency in Internal Medicine followed by Gastroenterology fellowship, both at Stanford University. While at Stanford I also completed postdoctoral research with Michael Fischbach, where I investigated the role of gut microbes in food allergy and engineered commensal gut bacteria to drive antigen-specific T cell responses.
