Located on the Duluth campus, the Office of Research Support was created to support faculty, staff and students in their research endeavors, helping to further the mission of our campus to better serve the healthcare needs of rural Minnesota and Native American communities.

The Office of Research Support fosters our greater campus community, acting as a central resource for our departments and various offices, ensuring the success of all research activities.

In partnership, the Office of Research Support includes operations of the Whiteside Institute for Clinical Research, as well as facilities and safety management on the Duluth campus.

Whiteside Institute for Clinical Research

Initiated in 1996 as a result of the generous trust bequest from Ms. Muriel Whiteside, the Whiteside Institute for Clinical Research is a collaboration of the University of Minnesota Medical School, Duluth Campus and St. Luke's Hospital. The Whiteside Institute strives to promote collaborative research in the region with focus areas of cancer, lung, and heart disease.
