On Give to the Max Day, your gift to the University of Minnesota Medical Scientist Training Program (MSTP) directly supports the education and training of tomorrow’s physician-scientists—individuals who are uniquely equipped to link laboratory research to patient care. The MD/PhD students in our program dedicate their lives to becoming both doctors and researchers, working at the forefront of biomedical discovery and innovation.

Your donation helps provide essential resources such as research funding, mentorship opportunities, and conference travel—critical components for success in this demanding dual-degree program. After completing 7-8 years of training, MSTP students are ready to tackle some of the most pressing health challenges, from cancer and infectious diseases to neuroscience and genetic disorders.
