I typically paint free hand using several layers - I let them dry and apply more paint on top - I sometimes finish using markers on top of the paint. These are based on old black and white snapshots or photos that either my dad took when in the service in the 1950s (Lady and Boy) or I took while on various vacations (Boat was taken in Bonaire and I visited Iceland last fall).

Well, drawing is really interesting because it helps me pay attention to beauty or pathos. And it’s been a navigational tool for me.
For local artist Anita White, drawing offers many things. It’s a way to process, a way to navigate, a way to honor and document those around her. It’s a way to process grief, anger and joy, and share in life’s journey. It’s been a way of life, a creative habit. We're honored to share her whimsical drawings with you.
