Dr. Lelonek is core faculty in the Duluth Family Medicine Residency Program. She is excited to bring her varied experiences as a physician, coach, and public health leader to residency education. Medical interests include providing trauma-informed care, street medicine, and care for those who have lost their homes. She also has a background in mindfulness-based approaches to care and physician wellness. She loves to incorporate poetry, art, and nature into medicine, both for patients and colleagues.
Dr. Lelonek started her career as a National Health Service Corps Scholar with a full spectrum family medicine practice at the Warm Springs reservation in central Oregon and a critical access hospital. She continued to work in full-spectrum family medicine care including obstetrics and hospital work in Bellingham, WA, until transitioning to inpatient adult hospitalist work in 2022. She is happy to be returning to her roots and enjoys the richness of a practice including both ambulatory and inpatient care.
While new to Duluth, Dr. Lelonek previously held the position of co-health officer for Whatcom County Health and Community Services. In that role she was deeply involved in the community, working on the county Opioid Task Force, street medicine, care for those who are living without homes, communicable disease, and care for aging adults. She has also been active in the local trail running and outdoor community and loves to get outside to volunteer.
