Dr. Warry is Director, Rural Health Initiatives, Memory Keepers Medical Discovery Team (MDT) – Health Equity, and Professor, Department of Family Medicine and Biobehavioral Health. Dr. Warry is a medical anthropologist specializing in Indigenous and rural health and health systems research. He is the former Director of the Centre for the Centre for Rural and Northern Health Research (CRaNHR) at Laurentian University. Dr. Warry has been PI a number of large interdisciplinary, community and patient-oriented research programs concerning Health Equity for Northern Ontarians funded by the Ontario government and the Canadian Institutes for Health Research. With Dr. Kristen Jacklin, Dr. Warry has conducted community based participatory research concerning Indigenous dementia, including a multi-sited foundational study documenting cultural perceptions and attitudes toward dementia and caregiving.


Dr. Warry has experience in rural and Indigenous health, health human resource research, community based participatory action research, program design, community based training, evaluation, policy research, advocacy, health promotion, and cross cultural awareness/cultural safety training.
