Pediatrics Residency Preparation Elective

Catalog Description:  

This elective is designed to support fourth-year medical students who have matched into pediatrics as they transition from undergraduate medical education to residency training. Through a combination of individualized learning activities, specialty-specific preparation, and faculty mentorship, students will strengthen the clinical knowledge, professional competencies, and practical skills needed for success as incoming residents. Learning experiences may include advanced clinical review, simulation, residency "boot camp" activities, evidence-based practice, interprofessional collaboration, and completion of specialty-specific preparatory modules. The elective provides a structured opportunity for students to build confidence, address individual learning needs, and enhance their readiness for the responsibilities of residency.
