Catalog Description:

The Community-Based Hematology & Oncology elective is a four-week clinical course designed to immerse medical students in the practice of hematology and oncology within a community-based setting. Students will gain hands-on clinical experience with patient care, develop skills in communication and clinical reasoning, and explore the unique challenges and opportunities that arise in delivering hematology and oncology care in non-academic health systems. Emphasis is placed on understanding multidisciplinary collaboration, patient-centered care, and the role of community-based physicians in advancing cancer and hematologic care.
