Pulmonary & Critical Care Summit
This course explores the breadth of pulmonary and critical care medicine topics with special emphasis on advanced lung diseases and lung transplantation. The CME credit-eligible event will be held at the award-winning McNamara Alumni Center, known for its striking architecture, and it will be facilitated and led by renowned faculty and researchers and will feature eminent external speakers. Sessions will empower academic and community providers by updating their knowledge and addressing practice gaps in the specialty.

Intended Audience
Course Objectives
- Explore the latest research in pulmonary and critical care medicine at an academic quaternary referral center with emphasis on multidisciplinary management of mechanical ventilation, ECMO, ARDS, pneumonia, pulmonary embolism, sepsis, and multiorgan failure.
- Identify current clinical practice strategies and updates in interstitial lung diseases (ILD) with a focus on identifying co-morbidities, interventions that enhance quality of life, including nursing support, patient education on oxygen use, antifibrotic medications, and early integration of palliative care.
- Identify and discuss state-of-the-art tools in bronchoscopy and pleural interventions.
- Discuss the guidelines for lung transplant selection and pearls for pre- and post-transplant management.
- Discuss the latest updates in a broad category of obstructive lung diseases, including asthma, COPD, and bronchiectasis.
- Discuss the optimal principles of non-invasive ventilation management, including updates in the field of Sleep Medicine.
