Medicine Pediatric Residency Program Clinical Sites
Our multiple-site model of training provides our residents the opportunity to experience the full breadth of medical practice, treat diverse patient populations, and learn to work within multiple medical systems. As a result, our residents graduate with a comprehensive skill set and the confidence and adaptability to succeed in a broad range of settings – from refugee camps to tertiary care hospitals to urban community clinics to rural primary care clinics.
Our multiple-site program gives residents the opportunity to experience the full breadth of medical practice, treat diverse patient populations, and learn to work within multiple medical systems. At each site, you'll work with MedPeds physicians as preceptors and attendings alongside categorical internal medicine and pediatrics experts.

Hennepin County Medical Center
Hennepin County Medical Center (HCMC) has Minnesota's premier level 1 pediatrics and adult trauma center. HCMC serves as the largest safety net hospital in Minnesota, providing care for low-income, the uninsured, and vulnerable populations. Its mission is to partner with patients and their families to ensure access to outstanding care while improving health and wellness through teaching, patient and community education, and research. Specific programs of interest include the traumatic brain injury outpatient program, and the addiction medicine program.

Minneapolis VA Health Care System
The Minneapolis VA Health Care System is a teaching hospital that provides a wide range of patient care services with state-of-the-art technology, education, and research. Comprehensive health care is provided through primary care, tertiary care, and long-term care in areas of medicine, surgery, psychiatry, physical medicine and rehabilitation, neurology, oncology, dentistry, geriatrics, extended care, and women's health.

Regions Hospital
Regions Hospital has an illustrious history dating back almost 150 years. It was originally the public St Paul-Ramsey County Hospital and later became Regions Hospital, a private, non-profit hospital which still serves as the county hospital for the city of St Paul and surrounding communities. It is a Level I adult and pediatric trauma center and has a renowned Burn Center. These attributes allow residents to care for insured and uninsured patients with both common and rare diseases, providing a wealth of educational opportunities and experiences.
M Health Fairview University of Minnesota Medical Center
M Health Fairview University of Minnesota Medical Center is recognized nationally for excellence in solid organ and blood and marrow transplantation as well as heart disease, cancer, neurosciences, pediatrics, and behavioral illnesses. The UMMC provides a wonderful integration of teaching, research and patient care. Core areas of excellence in research include diabetes, infectious diseases, stem cell biology, vascular disease, hemostasis, autoimmunology, fibrotic lung disease, medical genetics and cancer.
M Health Fairview University of Minnesota Masonic Children's Hospital
M Health Fairview University of Minnesota Masonic Children's Hospital is a hospital of pediatric firsts: first successful pediatric blood marrow transplant, infant heart transplant, and cochlear implant surgery for a child. The hospital is nationally renowned for its bone marrow transplant unit, hematology, oncology, NICU, PICU, and palliative care services.
