Dr. Desai obtained his medical degree from Smt. Nathiba Hargovandas Lakhmichand Municipal Medical College in India. He then completed a Master's in Public Health program at the University of Texas at Houston. He did his Internal Medicine residency at the University of Arizona in Tucson. He completed a fellowship in Pulmonary & Critical Care at Indiana University with extra elective time in the diagnosis and treatment of pulmonary hypertension.
He joined the faculty at the University of Minnesota in 2020 with clinical interests in sarcoidosis, interstitial lung disease, ECMO, and asthma. His practice sites include the University of Minnesota Medical Center and the ICU at M Health-Fairview Southdale Hospital. He conducts multi-center clinical trials in Interstitial lung disease, Sarcoidosis, and ARDS.
