Summary
Dr. Kennedy is an immunologist, with extensive experience in natural killer (NK) cell biology. Her research focuses on understanding cellular interactions in complex tissue environments, particularly solid tumors through the use of advanced imaging techniques. She joined the University of Minnesota from the University of Manchester, U.K., where she had been applying super-resolution microscopy to understand the structured interface between an NK cell and a cancer cell, known as the immune synapse. Before that, she completed her Ph.D. at the University of Cambridge, U.K., investigating the role of uterine NK cells in reproductive disorders. At the University of Minnesota, she seeks to harness comprehensive evaluation of NK cell behavior, from individual protein organizations to three dimensional tumor architectures, for improved immunotherapy design and evaluation.
