We are very pleased to announce Erhan Dincer, MD, MHA, has accepted the roles of Medical  Service Subspecialties Line (MSSL) Chief and Department of Medicine Vice Chair of Clinical Affairs, succeeding Betsy Seaquist, MD.  Dr. Dincer is an internationally recognized expert in minimally invasive procedures to diagnose and treat lung diseases and has held a number of clinical leadership roles within Medical Subspecialty Service Line, including Co-Director of Pulmonary Services and Medical Director for Interventional Pulmonary and General Bronchoscopy services at the University of Minnesota Medical Center.  

As MSSL Chief, Dr. Dincer will partner with Jennifer Miller, MBA, who has served as the Service Line Executive for the Medical Subspecialties Service Line since 2020 and Surgical Specialties Service Lines since 2018. Dr. Dincer and Ms. Miller will collaborate with key stakeholders and health system leaders to lead initiatives that optimize healthcare delivery experience and outcomes. They will lead the development of  the strategic plan for all disciplines within MSSL and ensure the coordination, direction and collaboration of services and resources across MSSL. 

As Vice Chair for Clinical Affairs, Dr. Dincer will develop and oversee approaches for clinical quality management, patient satisfaction and provider productivity and satisfaction for the Department of Medicine.  He will partner with the departmental and system leaders to advance initiatives to evaluate and improve physician engagement, address burnout, increase the diversity of clinicians and strengthen the integration of clinical and research programs. 

Dr. Dincer holds a MD from Istanbul University where he completed an Internal Medicine residency.  He completed an additional Internal Medicine residency and was Chief Resident at University of Illinois Chicago.  He completed a fellowship in Pulmonary & Critical Care Medicine at the Medical College of Wisconsin. He also holds a Masters in Healthcare Administration from the University of Minnesota School of Public Health. Dr. Dincer will continue in his role as Director, Division of Pulmonary, Allergy, Critical Care, and Sleep which he assumed in October 2022.
