Medical Student Programmatic Course Awards

We provide awards for MD and DO students to attend programmatic courses. One or more students who apply to each course and express a strong interest in attending will be randomly selected for these awards, which cover the cost of registration and up to $300 in travel payment for airfare, mileage, lodging, and ground transportation expenses. These students will submit itemized receipts to fmrp@umn.edu after the course. If the course is in-person, boxed lunches, beverages, and parking are also provided. 

Students gain knowledge and skills with residents and faculty of our residency programs. Course coordinators will notify all learners about two weeks in advance of the course date of any required pre-course work that averages about 30 minutes to four hours to complete, with the exception of the Advance Life Support in Obstetrics (ALSO) Course, which has nine hours of pre-course material. One or more students who apply and express a strong interest in attending the course are randomly selected for each course.
