Carl G. Kukulka Rehabilitation Science Fund

This fund has been named in honor of former Director and Professor, Carl G. Kukulka, for his years of support and service to the science of rehabilitation. These funds will be used to support the Division of Rehabilitation Science including support for seminars, research, journal clubs, and guest speakers to develop socialization of students into the intellectual community of Rehabilitation Science. The fund will also support student travel for conference presentations.

Judy Ludewig Memorial Fund

Recognition: Judy Ludewig was the mother of Paula Ludewig, PT, PhD, a long time faculty member and past Director of Graduate Studies for the Rehabilitation Science program. Judy Ludewig passed away in April of 2016, after a long battle with several debilitating conditions, including Parkinson's disease. Judy benefited from numerous rehabilitation and clinical services over several of the last years of her life, and she was very grateful these services allowed her to maintain her independence as long as possible. At a young age, Judy was accepted into the nursing program at St. Marys Hospital, which is now a part of the Mayo Clinic system. At the time she did not have the funds for her education, and a physician scholarship donation allowed her to attend and graduate as a licensed practical nurse. Having seen the power of scholarships, the impact of rehabilitation services on quality of life for the aging, and the impact of giving, this fund was established in her memory to support clinicians in Rehabilitation Science pursuant of advancing their education to improve clinical practice through education and research.
