Family Meals, LIVE!: Sibling Edition

Family Meals, LIVE!: Sibling Edition is an ancillary study to focus on the siblings of children in the Family Meals, LIVE! study.

The main objective is to examine parent feeding behaviors with more than one child in the home.

Study Details

Participants

  • Families who participated in the Family Meals, LIVE! study were invited to participate in Family Meals, LIVE!: Sibling Edition
  • Of the 120 original families, 110 participated (92% retention). Eighty-eight families who participated in Sibling Edition had siblings living in the home (ages 2 to 18 years old)

Methods

  • Collected height and weight data on all family members
  • Parent or primary guardian completed quantitative survey
  • For those homes with siblings ages 2 to 18 years old, the parent or primary guardian completed a qualitative interview regarding parent feeding practices and family meals
