Research Brief: Lasting Solutions for Advancement of Women of Color
Recently published in the Journal of the Association of American Medical Colleges, Dr. Mary Owen and additional contributing authors address the importance of understanding the barriers women face and why promotions and opportunities for growth are especially challenging for women of color. As academic leaders coming from underrepresented groups, the authors are aware that traditional approaches to reducing this bias have not worked well. They address solutions to ensure the academic pathway is supportive while also providing several recommendations for solutions.
