Anne Blaes, MD, appointed as Interim Division Director

We are delighted to announce that Anne Blaes, MD, has been appointed the Interim Director for the Division of Hematology, Oncology and Transplantation (HOT). Dr. Blaes is currently an Associate Professor in the Department of Medicine and Section Head of Medical Oncology in the HOT Division. In addition to these leadership roles, Dr. Blaes serves as Director of Survivorship Services and Translational Research and Co-Leader of the Screening, Prevention, Etiology and Cancer Survivorship Program at the Masonic Cancer Center. Dr. Blaes is nationally recognized for her expertise in breast cancer and cancer survivorship. Among her many accomplishments, she has chaired the American Society of Clinical Oncology Cancer Survivorship Committee and is currently an Associate Editor of JACC CardioOncology. She is a member of the Global Cardio-Oncology Executive Committee and a member of the American Heart Association’s Cardio-Oncology Council. Dr. Blaes obtained her MD degree from Loyola University and completed residency, chief residency, and hematology/oncology fellowship at the University of Minnesota before joining the faculty in 2009. She also has a Masters in Clinical Research from the University of Minnesota.
