Congratulations to Kathleen Dockter!

Kathleen has been appointed as Inaugural Vice Chair for Administration in the Department of Medicine. This new title reflects Kathleen’s vital role and essential contributions as a member of the department's senior leadership team.  

Since joining the Department of Medicine as Administrative Director in 2019, Kathleen has been a trusted partner helping navigate new relationship with Fairview, financial challenges, and the Covid pandemic, all the while keeping us on track to advance the Department’s clinical, teaching, research, and service missions. Because of her experience and judgment, she has continued to serve as a valued advisor to the Dean’s office and UMP leadership. Kathleen has nurtured a particularly strong relationship with the faculty and staff, who feel comfortable approaching her to solve problems, air concerns, and make suggestions. Under her leadership, the Department has recruited new leaders, transitioned to a hybrid workplace, revised the faculty compensation plan, implemented the medical school space policy, addressed faculty and staff engagement and wellness, accelerated DEI initiatives, integrated UMP-exclusive providers into the Medicine CSU, and increased faculty recruitment.  

Prior to joining the Department, Kathleen served as the Senior Director of Operational Alignment at the Medical School and UMP, Center Director of the ALRT Administrative Center, and Operations Director of the CMRR. She received her MBA degree from the Carlson School of Management.
