Care Aware: Understanding Opioids in Minnesota
Care Aware: Understanding Opioids in Minnesota
According to the Minnesota Department of Human Services, about 290,000 adults in Minnesota need treatment for addiction. National data suggests that only 10% of those who need treatment receive it. Through a 10-15 minute survey, we assessed the public’s view and understanding of opioid addiction and treatment options, including familiarity with harm reduction and support for public health policy on addiction. With this information, we plan to implement interventions and education to close knowledge gaps and increase treatment access and acceptability.
