Summary

Dr. Megan M. Kristan is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Division of Diabetes, Endocrinology and Metabolism, Department of Medicine at the University of Minnesota. She graduated from Georgetown University School of Medicine, and then completed an Internal Medicine residency and Chief Residency at Georgetown University Hospital. She completed an Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Nutrition fellowship at University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore, MD.

Dr. Kristan’s clinical focus is diabetes mellitus with specific emphasis on cardiometabolic risk mitigation. Her research has covered multiple areas within endocrinology, including diabetes and heart failure, COVID-19 and diabetes, as well as immunotherapy effects on thyroid function. She has presented at numerous national and international research conferences and authored multiple peer-reviewed articles. She has focused her career on medical education through creating interactive educational sessions, developing an Endocrine scholars’ program for medical students and residents, and providing individualized education and mentorship.
